Dynamic board member, inspiring strategist and best-selling author Susan M. O’Dell rouses teams to action with her down-to-earth, practical approach. Hundreds of companies have increased shareholder value, built customer loyalty and created brand equity as a result of her insightful, tough approach to a wide variety of business conundrums.

O’Dell’s philosophy is summarized in The Butterfly Customer: Capturing the Loyalty of Today’s Elusive Consumer, the business book she co-authored with Joan A. Pajunen: “Be visionary in what you promise. Only promise what you can deliver. And make sure your promise benefits all your stakeholders.”

O’Dell is more than an observer of the business world, along the way building up a successful company, Service Dimensions Inc. After its sale to a publicly-traded communications company, she purchased and re-branded a winery, EastDell Estates, and executed an industry consolidation strategy under the brand name, Niagara Cellars Inc, now a cornerstone of Diamond Wines, a shining success in the beverage alcohol sector.

No stranger to change, O’Dell credits her ability to quickly adapt to six years in India with missionary parents. She currently resides in Niagara, Ontario where she assists public and private sector boards to create shareholder value with a focus on facilitating the vision.

Susan is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds the ICD-D designation.
